Mesut Ozil, born 15 October 1988, is a German professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Istanbul Başakşehir of the Süper Lig. Ozil is well-known for his technical abilities, creativity, passing abilities, and vision. He is also capable of playing as a wide midfielder.
Ozil, who was born and raised in Gelsenkirchen, began his senior club career with hometown club Schalke 04 before joining Werder Bremen in 2008, at the age of 19. His individual performances led to a move to Real Madrid in 2010 after he won the DFB-Pokal in his first season. He helped the club win the La Liga title and led the league in assists for three consecutive seasons.

Tributes to Pele poured in from all over the world following his death at the age of 82; football stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappe, and Lionel Messi were among those to pay tribute to the Brazilian legend. Christ the Redeemer and the Wembley Arch were both lit up in Brazilian colors.
