Ghana Premier League giants Hearts of Oak have reportedly finalized the signing of midfielder Razak Kasim, as confirmed by local media outlets.

The Accra-based club is looking to strengthen their squad following a disappointing season where they finished in 14th place. Kasim, a 30-year-old defensive midfielder, recently became a free agent after departing Great Olympics at the end of the previous season.

Although he was in talks with Asante Kotoko, Kasim ultimately decided to join Hearts of Oak after several weeks of negotiations. Despite facing relegation with Olympics, Kasim managed to feature in 30 matches during the 2023/24 campaign.

Kasim is now the third addition to the Phobians’ roster, joining Asamoah Boateng Afriyie and Michael Mensah Awuah from Nations FC as the club prepares for the upcoming season. Hearts of Oak will be looking to improve their performance in the 2024/25 football season.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced that the 2024/25 Ghana football season is set to commence on September 6, with fans eagerly anticipating the return of local football action.
