Hearts of Oak coach Aboubakar Ouattara is calling for a change in attitude among the players as they face a tough battle to avoid relegation in the Ghana Premier League.

The Ghanaian giants have struggled this season and find themselves dangerously close to the drop zone with just three games left in the campaign. With only a two-point cushion separating them from relegation, Hearts of Oak need to up their game.

A recent 2-0 defeat to rivals Asante Kotoko has added to their woes, putting them in a precarious position. Ouattara knows that the team must secure maximum points in their remaining matches against Nations FC, Great Olympics, and Bechem United to ensure survival.

In a recent interview, Ouattara emphasized the importance of a change in attitude if the team is to succeed. He acknowledged the challenges they face but stressed the need to stay focused and give their all in the crucial upcoming fixtures.

“We are in a bad situation and not well placed on the table. We need to pick maximum points in the remaining games to survive,” Ouattara stated. “To do that, we have to change our attitude and give our best on the pitch. The focus is on the three remaining matches, and we need to win all of them to stay in the league.”

Hearts of Oak currently sit 15th in the league standings with 38 points after 31 matches. Their next test will be against Nations FC at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday for matchday 32 of the league season.

The pressure is on for Hearts of Oak, but with the right mindset and determination, they can turn their fortunes around and secure their place in the top flight for another season. It’s now up to the players to rise to the occasion and deliver when it matters most.
