Corporate institutions and individuals are coming together to support the refurbishment of the main blocks of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in a bid to improve healthcare services in the region.

Kuapa Kokoo and the Ghana Association of Garages Zone 13 have made generous donations of GH₵100,000 and GH₵20,000 respectively to the Heal KATH Project. The hospital, which serves as a major health referral facility for 12 regions in the country, is in urgent need of renovations due to deteriorating infrastructure and medical installations.

During a presentation event, the Chief Executive Officer of KATH, Professor Otchere Addai Mensah emphasized the importance of expediting the project to enhance healthcare delivery to patients. He acknowledged the significance of KATH in providing healthcare services to Ghanaians and assured transparency in accounting for contributions towards the project.

The Chairman of the Ghana Association of Garages Zone 13, Eric Ahen, and the National President of Kuapa Cocoa Farmers and Marketing Union, James Agyekum Kwarteng, led a delegation to make the donations at the hospital. Prof. Mensah expressed gratitude on behalf of the project board and emphasized the need for more support to revamp the hospital.

Despite achieving 50% of the targeted amount for refurbishment, additional support is required to aid in the renovation of the hospital.
