Harvey Weinstein is a producer known for the movies Gangs of New York, Shakespeare in Love (2002), and Pulp Fiction (1994).

Shakespeare in Love, which Weinstein produced, received an Academy Award. He also received seven Tony Awards for plays and musicals such as The Producers, Billy Elliot the Musical, and August: Osage County.

Weinstein and his brother Bob established the mini-major film firm The Weinstein Company after quitting Miramax. From 2005 through 2017, he served as Bob’s co-chairman.

Spouse and Children

Weinstein has two previous marriages. He wed his assistant Eve Chilton in 1987, and the two later got divorced in 2004.

They had three daughters: Ruth, who was born in 2002, Emma, who was born in 1998, and Remy (formerly Lily), who was born in 1995. He wed Georgina Chapman, an actress and English fashion designer, in 2007. They have a son and a daughter.

Parents and Siblings

Max and Miriam Weinstein welcomed their first son, Harvey, into the world on March 19, 1952 in Flushing, Queens, New York City, New York, USA. He grew up with a younger brother.

Together with his brother, Bob Weinstein, he founded the media company Miramax, which went on to make a number of well-received independent movies, including Sex, Lies, and Videotape (1989), The Crying Game (1992), Pulp Fiction (1994), Heavenly Creatures (1994), Flirting with Disaster (1996), and Shakespeare in Love (1998).
