It’s heartbreaking to learn about the unexpected passing of a renowned BBC news anchor. Harry Gration, a former BBC Yorkshire presenter, is said to have died at the age of 71.

His death was confirmed by his former Look North co-host Amy Garcia, who said he died on Friday. His cause of death has not been disclosed. However, in due time when his autopsy is released, would give more detail about his passing.

Ms. Garcia, who was fighting back tears as she sent condolences to Harry’s family and friends, told viewers that the show would pay full tribute to the much-loved journalist next week.
Gration began working for the BBC in 1978 and spent nearly four decades on Look North, joining the show in 1982. In 2020, he hosted the program for the final time.
He was a multiple RTS award winner, including Best Presenter twice, and is said to have raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity through a series of events with BBC colleagues.
