Actor Harris Dickinson was born in England on June 24, 1996. Dickinson was raised in Highams Park after being born in Leytonstone, East London.
He left school at the age of seventeen to pursue a career in theatre and movies. Dickinson was going to choose a career in the Royal Marines when his coach at London’s RAW Academy persuaded him otherwise.
His portrayal of the lead character in the 2017 drama Beach Rats, for which he was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead, helped him become well-known.
Since then, he has appeared as John Paul Getty III in the FX drama series Trust (2018), as well as in the films Maleficent, Mistress of Evil (2019), The King’s Man (2021), Triangle of Sadness, and Where the Crawdads Sing, in which he also has a significant role (both 2022).
Dickinson played the part of Frankie, a young man who isn’t sure of his sexual orientation, in Eliza Hittman’s 2016 film Beach Rats. According to Ed Potton, a critic for The Times, Dickinson “perfected a south Brooklyn vernacular” as Frankie. Dickinson’s performance garnered him nominations for two prizes: the Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead and the Gotham Independent Film Award for Breakthrough Actor.
