In the Republican primary for the 2022 election for the United States House of Representatives in Wyoming, Harriet Maxine Hageman (born October 18, 1962) defeated incumbent Liz Cheney, a fervent supporter of former President Donald Trump. Hageman is an American lawyer and Republican political candidate. Formerly a candidate for governor of Wyoming in 2018, she finished third in the Republican primary.
Harriet Hageman was born and raised on a ranch outside Fort Laramie, Wyoming. Longtime Wyoming House of Representatives member James Hageman was her father. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in business management from the University of Wyoming after completing her high school education, as well as a Juris Doctor from the University of Wyoming College of Law.
