Because of the nation’s current economic difficulties, General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defense Staff (CDS), has issued a warning to those he referred to as “evil people” who are calling for a coup in Nigeria.

Musa forewarned that individuals advocating for a coup in the nation due to the existing economic circumstances would face legal repercussions.

After opening the 6th Division, Nigerian Army, and Officers Transit Accommodation main entrance at the Division Headquarters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, he gave a speech.

The head of the Army gave his word about the Armed Forces’ commitment to maintaining Nigeria’s democracy.

“That person who is calling for a coup does not love Nigeria,” Musa said. The Nigerian Armed Forces are present to defend democracy; we would like to make that very clear.

Democracy is what we all want, and it is what works best for us. We shall thus keep up our support for democracy. Additionally, I believe that those advocating for anything other than democracy are bad people with bad intentions toward Nigeria.

And since the law will pursue them, they need to exercise extreme caution. Nigeria is experiencing many developments as a result of democracy. Indeed, we are going through difficult times; after all, nothing in life is certain.”

Musa said that the Federal Government is urging Nigerians to be patient as it works to address the nation’s present economic issues.

“It is how you handle the challenging moments that all people encounter throughout their lives. There is no denying that the government is working hard to make sure we prevail.

And that is when you understand what it takes to build a nation—when you go through hardships and overcome them.

“We are currently experiencing a difficult time, but I promise Nigerians that things will improve,” he continued.
