Ghanaian socialite Mona Faiz Montrage, known as Hajia 4Reall, has been denied bail by the United States Department of Justice, according to court documents presented by United States Attorney Damian Williams of the Southern District of New York.
Hajia 4Reall had requested the court to relax her bail conditions, seeking permission to return to New York and move around certain parts of her community while under house arrest.
However, the court stated that her bail request did not meet the established standards and would only consider relaxing her bail if she had family ties in the United States.
The court emphasized the weight of evidence against Hajia 4Reall, expressing concerns that granting her bail would pose a flight risk under section 3142-G of the US Justice system.
Attorney Damian Williams highlighted the potential consequences, stating that she could face a prison sentence of four to seven years based on the evidence gathered, particularly in relation to an alleged involvement in a $2 million romance scam.
These recent developments have created further uncertainty for Hajia 4Reall as she navigates the legal challenges she faces in the United States.
