GWR: third-year KNUST student completes her video game marathon after 56 hours

A student at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Vanessa Azoumaro, has made history by completing a Guinness World Record attempt for the longest video game marathon playing the Ghost of Tsushima series. Initially aiming for 48 hours, Vanessa surpassed expectations and successfully played for an impressive 56 hours, 30 minutes, and 43 seconds.

Vanessa’s record-breaking attempt concluded at 5:30 am on Monday, July 29, 2024, at the Airport View in Kumasi SG Mall. Supporters and friends gathered to cheer her on as she made her way to the finish line. The third-year Social Work student was closely monitored by a dedicated team to ensure the credibility of her attempt.

Although Vanessa has completed the marathon, she still needs to submit evidence to the Guinness World Records team for verification and confirmation. The gaming community and her supporters are eagerly awaiting the official recognition of her remarkable achievement.
