Gospel musician Great Ampong, born Isiah Ampong, recently addressed rumors surrounding his involvement with political parties and campaign songs.

In an interview on Connect 97.1 FM’s “Edwumapa mbr3” with Nana Yaw Gyebi, Great Ampong sought to clarify his stance and dispel misconceptions.

One prevalent rumor that Great Ampong addressed was the speculation that he had received a substantial amount of money from a political party in exchange for composing a campaign song.

Firmly denying these claims, Ampong emphasized that he had never accepted any significant financial incentives from any political entities.

“Whoever said I have received money for a campaign song is dreaming. I haven’t been contacted or received any money to record a campaign song. Whether I choose to release a political song this year or not, my allegiance to the NPP remains steadfast,” he stated.

Despite denying receiving monetary compensation, Great Ampong acknowledged his alignment with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and reaffirmed his commitment to the party.

He mentioned that regardless of whether he released campaign songs, his association with the NPP remains strong.

This situation sheds light on the challenges artists face when their political affiliations influence public perception, often overshadowing their artistic work.

Throughout the interview, Great Ampong remained resolute in his dedication to his musical career and personal beliefs.

He stressed the importance of upholding integrity and authenticity in both his artistic expression and political affiliations, showcasing a principled approach to his craft.

Great Ampong’s commitment to his music and values is evident in his unwavering stance during the interview.
