Following Thomas Tuchel’s dismissal on Wednesday, Chelsea moved quickly to appoint Graham Potter.

The 47-year-old Brighton manager won’t have had much time to catch his breath as he prepares to assume his new position. His role as head manager resumes on Saturday (September 10) where the Blues face Fulham in their next thrilling encounter.

Despite his remarkable achievements with the Seagulls, he just couldn’t pass up this opportunity. However, he will arrive at Chelsea’s Cobham training facility on Friday knowing that he has a lot of work ahead of him.

Since Cesar Azpilicueta’s arrival in 2012, nine different managers have been in charge of this Chelsea team, with the majority coming together in the past three years under the direction of Frank Lampard and then Tuchel.

One predominant factor that can put Graham Potter in the spotlight with his coaching role at Chelsea is if he is able to command respect from players who have seen it all, winning the prestigious Champions League trophy a decade ago in 2012.

With the likes of Raheem Sterling and other key players such as Thiago Silva, Reece James César Azpilicueta, and Kalidou Koulibaly he has the prowess to transform the elite club.
