The government of Ghana is set to introduce the E-Gate initiative at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) by the end of this year, according to Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia. This initiative will allow passengers to enter the country without having to go through immigration officers.
Dr Bawumia made this announcement during a meeting with the clergy in Cape Coast as part of his tour of the Central Region. He explained that with the E-Gate initiative, passengers can simply insert their Ghana card into the system, which will then open the gate for them to pass through.
“The E-gates will come into work in Ghana before the end of this year,” Dr Bawumia assured.
This move is aimed at improving the efficiency and convenience of entry processes at the airport. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting development.
