A 16-unit detached and semi-detached housing bungalow for top public officials has been constructed by the Ministry of Works and Housing in collaboration with the State Housing Cooperation (SHC).
Ministers of State, Chief Directors, and Court Justices are among the senior governmental authorities.
16 separate families will now reside in the apartment, which is situated on an acre and a half of property in Ridge, Accra, and is the result of the renovation of a three-housing unit on the same plot of land.
It was one of the locations the Ministry was redeveloping to guarantee optimal use of land space, according to Mr. Francis Asenso-Boakye, the previous Minister of Works and Housing, who examined the project’s development.
The neighborhoods around the airport, Labone, Roman Ridge, Lartehbiokorshie, and the cantonments are among the other locations.
He was pleased that 95% of the construction and bungalow layouts had been completed.
We offer residential accommodations to state personnel, and I’m happy that the apartments are demarcated by a plantation. I hope it would teach us all something,” he remarked.
Senior public officials’ offices are close to the bungalow, according to Mr. Asenso-Boakye, making it possible for them to get to work on time.
The Minister said that Hackman Owusu-Agyemang will be honored for his exemplary deeds as a Minister of Water Resources, Works, and Housing with a bungalow dedicated in his honor.
The Managing Director of SHC, Mr. Kwabena Ampofo Appiah, stated that the company had made arrangements so that each tenant in the bungalow could install a satellite television and air conditioning system if desired, without needing to drill additional holes in the structure.
That would assist ensure the bungalow remained in good condition for a long period, he said.
