A new housing project in Accra will bear the name of former Works and Housing Minister Hackman Owusu-Agyeman as a memorial, according to a statement made by Francis Asenso-Boakye, the Minister of Works and Housing.
Asenso-Boakye said, “Hon. Hackman, as we all call him, was very instrumental during his tenure as sector Minister, and undertook significant projects at the Ministry,” during a tour of the recently built 16 units of 4-bedroom residences at Ringway in Accra.
“He carried out President Kufuor’s Affordable Housing initiative, resulting in the construction of enormous housing complexes around the nation. Thus, it is a privilege to dedicate this initiative in his honor.
To motivate other public servants, he also shared intentions to rename other projects after prior sector ministers.
Situated in Ringway, Accra, the project, named the “Hackman Owusu-Agyeman Court,” intends to house senior civil officers, judges of superior courts, and ministers of state.
The State Housing Company (SHC) Limited is the developer of the project, which consists of 16 housing units—a significant increase over the three homes that were previously located on the 1.5-acre plot of land.
Mr. Asenso-Boakye commended the SHC workers and management for their excellent efforts in finishing the project.
