The Minister for Roads and Highways, Francis Asenso-Boakye, has reiterated the government’s commitment to improving the road infrastructure in Kumasi and nationwide. During an inspection of road projects in the Kwadaso Municipality, Mr. Asenso-Boakye called on residents to have faith in the government and support efforts to expedite the completion of various road networks in the Greater Kumasi metropolitan area.

Among the roads inspected were Tanoso Market to Pokukrom, Tanoso to Takyiman, Tanoso to Topre, Anhwiakwanta to Kessben, Lazab to Nwamase Road, and the ongoing construction of Kwadaso to Trabuom, among others. The purpose of the inspection was to assess the condition of the roads and identify areas in need of development.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) after the inspection, Mr. Asenso-Boakye expressed satisfaction with the progress made by contractors on the road projects. He emphasized that the completion of these roads would alleviate the daily commute stress for drivers and passengers in the area.

The Minister highlighted that the ongoing massive road construction projects across the country are a clear demonstration of President Akufo-Addo’s commitment to enhancing road infrastructure and transportation systems. He urged all contractors to work diligently to ensure timely completion of the projects.

In support of the Minister’s statements, Prof. Kingsley Nyarko, the MP for Kwadaso, stressed that the completion of roads within the constituency would significantly boost economic development and enhance the overall beauty of the area. He called on drivers and constituents to exercise patience and collaborate with the government in the development process.

The efforts by the government to improve road infrastructure in Kumasi and beyond are crucial for the socio-economic development of the country.

Through collaboration and support from all stakeholders, the vision of enhanced road networks and efficient transportation systems can be realized.
