After a disappointing season in the Ghana Premier League, Asante Kotoko has decided to shake things up for the upcoming 2024/25 campaign.

This has led to the departure of eleven players, including club captain Danlad Ibrahim and Georges Mfegue, whose contracts have come to an end.

Danlad Ibrahim, in a heartfelt farewell message, expressed his gratitude to Asante Kotoko for the role they played in his development. He credited the club for shaping him into the player he is today and thanked the fans for their unwavering support.

“From the first day I joined this great club, I feel privileged and proud to represent Kotoko. I’m so grateful for all the support I have received and will be fabulous one for the rest of my life. I know I am going to miss our cherish fans, but I leave as a man and forever as a supporter of Kotoko. Long live his Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, long live Kotoko, and long live Asanteman. Thank you,” Danlad expressed in his farewell message.

Danlad Ibrahim’s time at Asante Kotoko was marked by various achievements, including winning the Ghana Premier League in the 2021-22 season, the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in 2021, and the WAFU Zone B U-20 Tournament in 2020. He also received personal accolades such as the Golden Glove at the WAFU Zone B U-20 Tournament in 2020 and the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in 2021, as well as being named the Ghana Football Awards Goalkeeper of the Year in 2021.

During the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season, Danlad Ibrahim made thirteen appearances for Asante Kotoko. His departure marks the end of an era for the goalkeeper, but his legacy at the club will not be forgotten.
