The Ministry of Health has debunked rumors circulating in the media claiming that the Global Fund has suspended shipments of medicines to Ghana.

In a press release issued by the Public Relations Unit on April 12, the Ministry dismissed these reports as baseless.

According to the Ministry, the Global Fund has not suspended nor does it intend to suspend any deliveries of medicines and health commodities to Ghana.

The Ministry confirmed that it has already received an itinerary for the delivery of medicines and health commodities for the year 2024, with the first consignment being delivered on April 12.

The Ministry expressed disappointment in the misrepresentation of facts in the media and clarified that there is no health crisis looming as a result of any suspension of supplies from the Global Fund.

They reassured stakeholders and the general public that the partnership with the Global Fund remains strong and that meeting the health needs of all Ghanaians continues to be a top priority.

Furthermore, the Ministry urged all media outlets and the public to verify health-related information with the Ministry to ensure accurate and reliable reporting. This, they emphasized, is crucial for the economic and social development of the country.
