Gladiators, Deadpool and Dwayne Johnson dominate CinemaCon 2024

The annual CinemaCon, a meeting of cinema owners and industry executives, was recently held in Las Vegas, showcasing the latest productions and upcoming releases in the film industry. The event was filled with star-studded appearances and exclusive teaser trailers.

Walt Disney Studios made a big impact at CinemaCon with two major reveals. Fans were treated to unreleased clips from Deadpool and Wolverine, as well as a teaser trailer for Moana 2. The presentation opened with a virtual appearance from Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, giving fans a sneak peek at the highly-anticipated releases.

Paramount Pictures also made a splash at CinemaCon, showcasing the first trailer for Gladiator II on the stage of The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The star-studded cast of Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, and Joseph Quinn was featured in the action-packed clip, promising an epic follow-up to the historical drama.

Universal Pictures celebrated the success of Oppenheimer and announced a sequel to the popular film Five Nights at Freddy’s, set for release in autumn 2025. The studio is hoping to replicate the success of the first film, which made £107m globally in its opening weekend.

The musical film Wicked, featuring Cynthia Erivo as “bad witch” Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda the Good Witch, showcased an extended trailer at CinemaCon. The stars expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to honor these iconic characters and pour their hearts into the film.

Despicable Me 4, the highly anticipated sequel to the popular franchise, was also highlighted at CinemaCon, featuring new characters and a thrilling storyline. The film is set to hit theaters in July, promising more minion madness and hilarious antics.

Angel Studios, known for the success of Sound of Freedom, announced their next release, the Biblical epic David, predicting it to be the most successful animated film of all time. The studio aims to top the box office rankings and surpass the record set by The Lion King in 2019.

Finally, fans got a first look at the long-awaited sequel to Joker, featuring Joaquin Phoenix reprising his Oscar-winning role as the iconic character.

Lady Gaga joins the cast as Harley Quinn, and the trailer hints at a unique and captivating storyline that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
