The Black Queens Management Committee has nominated Dr. Gifty Oware-Mensah, a bankroller for the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League team Berry Ladies.
The approval comes after the announcement of the five-member committee for Ghana’s National Women’s Football Team.
The Black Queens’ qualification for the 2024 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations was managed by the administrator. She is also a member of the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
Ghana defeated Namibia 3-2 overall to guarantee a spot in the competition, having missed the 2022 competition and failing to advance past the group stage of the 2018 competition.
Dr. Oware-Mensah not only plays multiple roles in the football world, but she also serves as the National Service Scheme’s Deputy Director.
Before the AWCON, the Black Queens will play in a series of Olympic qualification games in Paris in 2024.
Salifu Zida, the chairman of Upper East Regional Football, ASP Naomi Abdulai, Rose Osei Bonsu, and Nana Fosu Gyeabour II are the other members of the committee. At the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, the Black Queens won three silver medals.
