Gideon Mensah dragged on Twitter after Angola game; Baba Rahman begged to return

Ghana’s 1-1 draw against Angola in the AFCON qualifiers on Monday( March 27, 2023) has sparked reactions on social media, with fans expressing their disappointment in Gideon Mensah’s performance as he deputized for the injured Baba Rahman.

The AJ Auxerre left-back struggled to contain Angola forward Helder Costa, who easily tore him apart on the flank. This has left many Ghanaians questioning if Mensah is the right man to replace the injured Baba Rahman.

Following the game, Ghanaians took to social media to apologize to Baba Rahman and express their disappointment in Mensah’s performance. Some fans suggested that Mensah’s poor performance was the reason why Ghana could not secure all three points in the game.

It was a disappointing performance by the Black Stars, but they will have a chance to redeem themselves in their next game. Fans will be hoping to see an improved performance from the team and a better display from whoever replaces the injured Baba Rahman.
