Gideon Boako, spokesperson for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has strongly criticized Nana Ohene Ntow, former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and current advisor to Mr. Alan Kyerematen, for his derogatory remarks about Bawumia’s late father.

During an interview on Peace FM’s morning show, Ohene Ntow referred to Bawumia’s father as a gossip, sparking outrage from various quarters. Boako, who was also on the program, denounced Ohene Ntow’s comments as disrespectful and baseless.

Boako emphasized the importance of respecting the memory of Dr. Bawumia’s father, Alhaji Mumuni Bawumia, describing him as a respected statesman who made significant contributions to Ghana’s political landscape. He expressed disappointment in the lack of decorum displayed by a senior party member like Ohene Ntow.

Furthermore, Boako stressed that such disparaging remarks do not align with the values and principles of the NPP, a party known for its commitment to honoring individuals and their contributions to national development. He urged Ohene Ntow to refrain from personal attacks and instead engage in constructive discussions to advance the country’s democratic agenda.

In conclusion, Boako emphasized the need to uphold the dignity and legacy of past leaders who have selflessly dedicated themselves to the progress of the nation. He called on Ohene Ntow to provide evidence to substantiate his claims and cautioned against spreading unfounded allegations.

Boako’s firm stance against the disrespectful comments directed at Dr. Bawumia’s late father underscores the importance of maintaining professionalism and dignity in political discourse. It also serves as a reminder of the responsibility that comes with being a representative of the NPP and a steward of the nation’s democratic values.
