Ghanaian footballer Kingsley Gyamfi has made a big move to newly promoted Finnish top-flight side Ekenäs IF during the ongoing transfer window.
The 20-year-old defender has joined the club on a season-long loan from Swedish team Hammarby IF, with hopes of continuing his development and making an impact on the pitch.
According to reports, Gyamfi arrived at the club on Monday and has already started training with his new teammates. The young defender first caught the eye of Hammarby scouts while playing for MSK Zilina Africa in his home country of Ghana. After impressing with the P19 team, he signed a new five-year contract with Hammarby in January 2024 and was promoted to the senior team.
Despite playing in four matches for Hammarby in the Allsvenskan this season, Gyamfi has decided to make the move to Ekenäs IF for more playing time and experience. He is eager to prove himself in the Finnish top-flight and help his new club succeed in their upcoming campaign.
Although he has yet to be called up to the Ghana men’s national team for international duty, Gyamfi’s talent and potential have not gone unnoticed. With his determination and skills on the pitch, he could be a key player for both Ekenäs IF and the Ghana national team in the near future.
