Ghanaian striker Emile Acquah continued to shine for Barrow as he scored in their 1-1 draw against Crawley Town in League Two on Tuesday.

The match was a closely contested one, with the pre-match head-to-head record favoring Crawley Town with 5 wins compared to Barrow’s 3 wins and 1 draw between the two sides.

Sarpong-Wiredu was part of the starting lineup for Barrow and put in an impressive performance before being substituted after 72 minutes at the Broadfield Stadium. Both teams showed strong defensive work in the opening minutes, with Barrow working hard to establish control in midfield.

The first clear scoring opportunity came for Barrow when Robbie Gotts’ cross found Luca Stephenson, whose shot was saved by Crawley’s English-born Ghanaian goalkeeper Corey Addai. Barrow’s persistence paid off just before half-time when Elliott Newby provided a perfect cross for Emile Acquah to head home and give his team the lead.

Crawley Town fought back in the second half and were awarded a penalty in the 64th minute, which was expertly converted by Danilo Orsi to level the score at 1-1. Despite the equalizer, Acquah’s contribution to Barrow’s attack this season cannot be overlooked, with the striker making 41 appearances, scoring seven goals, and providing two assists in the league.
