Founder of the Odette Foundation, Johanita Dogbey’s, death has caused a stir on social media after the news broke.
In a shocking incident, reports claim the 31-year-old Ghanaian lady was brutally stabbed in Brixton, South London, on Monday(May 8th) afternoon.
According to detectives, she was attacked from behind by a knife-wielding stranger while she was talking to her granny on the phone.
Interestingly, the incident took place just a few hundred yards from Brixton Police Station, which has left her family devastated.
Johanita was the founder of the Odette Foundation, a charity that worked towards supporting people suffering from sickle cell in Ghana and Togo.
Her traumatized family has described her murder as “senseless.” In a statement issued by the Met Police, her family said that Johanita was a smart, dedicated, and loving girl who always helped anyone.
She had not a single bad bone in her body and would not hurt a fly. They further added that their hearts were completely broken, and they could not understand why someone would take their beautiful daughter away from them.
Johanita’s murder has really sent shocking waves to the community, and a 33-year-old man has been arrested in connection to her murder. He remains in police custody while further investigation is underway.
Johanita was pronounced dead at the scene despite the efforts of paramedics to save her. She had been out to buy a present and was returning home for a birthday celebration when the incident took place.
