Ghanaian midfielder Rahim Ibrahim was the hero for AS Trencin as they secured an impressive 4-0 victory over Zlate Moravce in the Slovakian Liga over the weekend. The former Accra Lions player played a vital role in inspiring his team to the win, scoring two goals in the process.
Ibrahim, who is just 22 years old, put in a stellar performance, opening the scoring in the 31st minute after a setup from Nigerian forward Sunday Jude. He then doubled his tally just before halftime to give Trencin a comfortable lead going into the break.
The home team continued their dominance in the second half, with Serbian forward Njegos Kupusovic and Slovakia international midfielder Artur Gadjos getting on the scoresheet to seal the victory for Trencin.
Following the win, Trencin moved to second place in the relegation group standings, while Zlate Moravce remains at the bottom of the Slovakian Liga after 27 rounds of games.
Ibrahim has been in impressive form this season, having played 24 matches, scoring six goals, and providing one assist for his team. His contributions have been instrumental in Trencin’s success and he will be looking to continue his fine run of form in the remaining matches of the season.
