Ghanaian winger Ibrahim Sadiq is basking in the joy of helping his team, AZ Alkmaar, secure victory over RKC Waalwijk in the Dutch Eredivisie. The former BK Hacken star played a pivotal role in the match, coming on as a substitute in the 62nd minute and making an immediate impact.

Sadiq scored a goal and provided an assist as AZ Alkmaar came from behind to win 3-2 on Sunday. His outstanding performance earned him the Man of the Match award, much to his delight.

In his post-match interview, Sadiq expressed his happiness at being able to contribute to the team’s success. “I was out on the bench and I told myself when if I go in I have to show what I can do and also help the team to win,” he said. “I saw spaces behind them and in the middle, so I was like if I go in I will take those spaces and score or give an assist.”

AZ Alkmaar were two goals down before Sadiq’s introduction in the second half. However, his assist for Yukinari Sugawara’s goal in the 66th minute sparked a comeback. Sadiq then scored the equalizer nine minutes later, before Vangelis Pavlidis netted the winner shortly after.

The Ghana youth international, who joined AZ Alkmaar in the winter transfer window, has already made 12 appearances for the club. With a goal and two assists to his name, Sadiq is proving to be a valuable asset for his new team.
