Ghanaian forward Abdul Aziz Yakubu delivers assist in Rio Ave’s stalemate against Estrela da Amadora

Ghanaian striker Abdul Aziz Yakubu showcased his skills on the pitch for Rio Ave as they battled Estrela da Amadora in the Portuguese top division.

The 25-year-old player put in a solid performance, playing the full 90 minutes as his team secured an important away draw in matchday 29 on Sunday.

Rio Ave took an early lead with a goal from Aderllan Santos in the 12th minute, but Estrela da Amadora equalized just before halftime with a goal from Leo Cordeiro. The teams headed into the break with one goal each, setting the stage for an intense second half.

In the dying minutes of the game, Estrela da Amadora thought they had secured the victory with a goal from Kikas. However, Rio Ave fought back and managed to score an equalizer deep into injury time, salvaging a point from the game.

Abdul Aziz Yakubu played a crucial role in the match, providing the assist for Rio Ave’s equalizing goal scored by Greece international Marios Vrousai. His compatriot Emmanuel Boateng also made an appearance for Rio Ave, coming on as a substitute in the second half.

Since returning from a loan spell in China, Abdul Aziz Yakubu has been in impressive form, scoring five goals in 12 appearances in the Portuguese top-flight.
