Young Ghanaian defender Nana Kwame Boakye has taken a significant step in his football career by signing his first professional contract with FC Sheriff.
Boakye, who has been a standout player in Ghana’s youth football scene, recently made the move to the Moldovan club after honing his skills at the prestigious Ghana National Football Academy. His talent has also been recognized on the international stage, having represented Ghana’s U-20 national team in six appearances.
FC Sheriff, a powerhouse in Moldovan football with 20 league titles to their name, expressed their excitement about acquiring Boakye’s services. “The team of FC Sheriff is pleased to welcome Kwame and wishes him good luck in the T-shirt of our club,” the club stated.
The young defender made his debut with the team in a Europa League qualifier match against FC Zira on Thursday, July 11. Despite coming on as a substitute, Boakye was unable to help his new team avoid a 1-0 defeat.
However, Boakye’s journey with FC Sheriff has just begun, and he is expected to further develop his skills and contribute to the team’s success in the league. The club and its fans are eagerly anticipating the impact that the talented Ghanaian defender will have on the field.
