Daniel Heber was the hero for FC Magdeburg as they secured a 2-0 victory over Hansa Rostock in a thrilling Bundesliga 2 encounter on Sunday.

The German defender scored his first goal of the season, proving instrumental in his team’s win at the Ostseestadion.

Despite Hansa Rostock having a better head-to-head record with five wins compared to FC Magdeburg’s four, Heber and his teammates showed their determination on the pitch. Even though the opposition had more possession, it was FC Magdeburg who managed to create more goal-scoring opportunities.

Heber opened the scoring in the 40th minute with a well-placed header from a set piece situation, courtesy of a perfect cross from Baris Atik. Earlier, in the 18th minute, Luca Schuler had put FC Magdeburg ahead with a clinical finish from inside the box.

With this crucial win, FC Magdeburg will be looking to carry on their momentum in their upcoming league fixture against VfL Osnabrück.

Heber, who has been a mainstay in the team with 29 appearances in the league this season, will be eager to continue contributing to his team’s success on the field.
