A rising Ghanaian musician from Kumasi, Ashanti Region, allegedly hanged himself after his friend left a painful message on his last post on his Facebook account.
Yaw Geng, who is a Kumasi-based musician cum sound engineer, left a post suspected to be a suicide note on his Facebook account on October 16, 2021.
In his last post, Yaw Geng said he had given up on life after his plans didn’t yield any fruit. He said ‘we are only humans, and we are not meant to be here forever,’ adding that he always questions why he was ‘born into suffering.’
His post read: “Sometimes things don’t go as planned and there is nothing you could do aside giving up. We are only humans and we are not meant to be here forever. There is a question I’ve been asking myself a billion times ….why are some of us born into suffering and others with a silver spoon in their mouth…The world ain’t fair.”
He won sympathy from most of his friends who commented on the post.
“Bro don’t give up , I feel ur pain , keep pushing, one day one day 3b3fa , s3 amfa k)p3 sika gari. But if the money comes aaa remember me cos I dey pray for u,” Emmanuel Amoah commented on this post.
Collins Appiah-Fei Colley Mahn added: “Life is PRECIOUS broh,Lets keep it safe and things will turn around.”
Suddenly, someone in the comment announced his Yaw Geng’s, saying he committed suicide by hanging himself.
Wag Gengs broke the news: “Oooooow family Yaw Geng is Dead ooooooooooooo. He hanged himself ooow ow ow yaw waha me ooooo ow hmmm.”
Another friend Robby Single confirmed the news, saying: “Oh bro so you were serious with this message, oh. Giving up wasn’t the best choice, some people were born blind, dumb, epilepsy, etc. Yet still they are full of hope, why did you left me bro.”
Immediately the news broke, a screenshot of another friend who left a chilling message under the suicide note popped up.
Stephen Owusu exposed the friend responsible for the unfortunate message: “Papion Gh you can run but you can’t hide. You see how idiot you are? In fact, I will produce your message to the police to aid them in their investigations.”
Papion Gh didn’t respond to the screenshot. No family has spoken on Yaw Geng’s death so far.
