Best Female Actress in 2002, Pascaline Edwards in an interview with Pulse Ghana said, Funny Face is not the only creative facing financial difficulties, She is broke too
Ghanaian actress Pascaline Edwards has revealed that she is in the same boat as the comedian. Her comment comes a few days after Funny Face posted on social media that he had not seen his children in the past four years because he was broke.
While empathizing with Funny Face in an interview with Pulse Ghana, Pascaline (also a fashion designer) said a lot of people are in difficult situations but they cannot talk about them.
She said she was not surprised by Funny Face’s statement about his poor financial status because the comedian had gone through a lot. He has had relationship issues, had a brush with the law, gone through depression, and later landed in psychiatry for therapy.
”I’m not surprised Funny Face is broken. Oh, his case is a very dicey one. The guy has gone through hell and back. So why won’t he be broken? He is trying to pick up the pieces. So yes, I’m not surprised at all that he is broke.
Even me I’m broke because I don’t say it people think I’m ok; like I’m broke too. So if you have any help, kindly help me because I’m in the same boat with Funny Face,” she noted.
Responding to social media comments slamming Funny Face for his post, Pascaline said it would take people who have been in the comedian’s position to appreciate his actions.
Born in Lomé, Togo in 1970, Pascaline Edwards came to Ghana in 1986 and attended Ghanatta Senior High School. Barely out of her teens, she honed her stage skills in the early 1990s as a member of one of Ghana’s top acting groups, the Talent Drama Group.
She was the lead actress in The Leopard’s Choice (1992). Her first film appearance began with the film Diabolo (1993). She went back to stage acting and her major break came with a series of classic performances when Emancipation Day celebrations to commemorate the abolition of slavery were introduced in Ghana in 1995.
