Ghanaian winger Joseph Paintsil leads LA Galaxy to victory in Major League Soccer

Ghana international Joseph Paintsil has expressed his excitement after helping LA Galaxy secure a 3-1 victory over Vancouver Whitecaps in the Major League Soccer.

Paintsil, who made the switch from KRC Genk to LA Galaxy in February 2024 as a Designated Player, delivered a stellar performance over the weekend to lead his team to victory.

The Black Stars winger not only scored a goal but also provided an assist as LA Galaxy sealed the win at the BS Place.

“Thank God for the goal, assist, and three points,” Paintsil shared on X (formerly known as Twitter).

The first half of the match ended in a goalless draw as both teams struggled to break the deadlock.

However, LA Galaxy took the lead through Dejan Joveljic in the 56th minute, only for Brian White to equalize for Vancouver Whitecaps in the 77th minute.

It was Paintsil who came to the rescue in the 80th minute, scoring a crucial goal to put LA Galaxy ahead before assisting Diego Fagundez to seal the victory for the visitors.

Since joining LA Galaxy in February from Belgian giants KRC Genk, Paintsil has scored three goals and provided three assists.

With the win, LA Galaxy now sit at the top of the table in the West Conference after eight games, with Vancouver Whitecaps closely trailing behind.
