Today, March 6, 2024, is Ghana’s 67th anniversary of independence.
On March 6, 1957, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the then-prime minister, declared Ghana’s independence from the United Kingdom.
President Akufo-Addo said in 2017 that the event will take place yearly in each area on a rotating basis.
Because of this, the Eastern region’s Koforidua Youth Resource Center will host the 2024 Independence Day procession.
The march, with the theme “Our Democracy, Our Pride,” will include a select group of schoolchildren and security personnel.
The special guest of honor will be Côte d’Ivoire’s President Alassane Ouattara.
It is anticipated that dignitaries, clergy, traditional leaders, and members of the diplomatic corps would attend the function.
