Retired Captain Kofi Amoabeng, the former CEO of UT Bank, is lamenting the missed opportunities for contributing positively to Ghana following the collapse of his bank and facing criminal prosecution by the state.
In a recent interview on the AM Show on JoyNews, he expressed his disappointment at not being able to pass on his wealth of knowledge and expertise to the next generation due to the challenges he is currently facing.
Despite the ongoing legal battles and associated stigma, Mr. Amoabeng remains committed to initiating various programs, including establishing his foundation and engaging with the youth. He believes that through mentoring young adults and encouraging them to prioritize Ghana’s future, a brighter path can be paved for generations to come.
Mr. Amoabeng emphasized the need for the youth to stay in Ghana, impact society, and help solve the country’s problems. However, he acknowledged that not everyone can be convinced to spend their entire lives in Ghana, as everyone has their limits.
In his efforts to give back to the community, Mr. Amoabeng expressed his commitment to venturing out despite the challenges he faces, with the hope of making a positive impact on the lives of young Ghanaians. His ultimate goal is to inspire a new generation of leaders who will work towards a better future for the country.
