Alidu Seidu, a defender for the Black Stars, went to France with his mother to complete his transfer to Stade Rennais FC.

The versatile 23-year-old defender, who is expected to cost $11 million plus add-ons, will join the team from Clermont Foot.

Clermont Foot and the French club have reached a consensus thanks to Stade Rennais; their fourth bid was accepted after three previous rejections. It is anticipated that Seidu’s transfer will be formally declared shortly.

Having already negotiated a personal agreement with Stade Rennais, the final formalities of the transfer will be completed as soon as Seidu arrives in France. With 14 appearances and one assist this season in Ligue 1, the Ghanaian international has had an outstanding campaign.

Alidu Seidu departs Stade Rennais FC and starts a new chapter in his burgeoning football career. Seidu competed for the Black Stars, a team that is currently participating in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast but is having a terrible tournament. The squad did not win any games as they concluded the competition in the group stage.

After losing to Cape Verde in their opening match, the four-time champions drew 2-2 with Egypt and achieved the same result against Mozambique in a pivotal encounter that saw Seidu make his AFCON debut.
