Ghanaian defender, Alexander Djiku, put on a solid performance for Fenerbahce as they battled Sivasspor to a 2-2 draw in the Turkish Super Lig on Monday.

Djiku, who plays as a centre-back for both his club and the Ghana national team, started the game and played the full 90 minutes.

Fenerbahce got on the scoresheet first with goals from Fred and Irfan Can Kehveci in the 45th and 80th minutes, respectively. However, Sivasspor fought back valiantly with Fode Koita finding the back of the net to level the score after the visitors had taken the lead. A late penalty converted by Rey Manaj ensured that the match ended in a 2-2 draw, with both teams earning a point each.

The draw leaves Fenerbahce four points behind Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig standings as the season nears its conclusion. Despite not securing a win in this crucial away match, Djiku’s performance at the heart of the defense was commendable and contributed to his team’s resilience throughout the game.

Ghanaian fans will be proud of Djiku’s efforts on the field as he continues to make an impact for both club and country.
