Cape Verde emerged victorious in their Sunday clash with Ghana as part of the group stage of the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). The Black Stars have never won the AFCON after losing their opening group game.
Following the defeat, disappointed and angry Black Stars supporters followed the team to their hotel and accosted them in a bid to find out answers with coach Chris Hughton reported to have been attacked.
A clip has emerged online showing fans inside the Stade Félix Houphouët Boigny in Abidjan venting their frustrations at the result while gesticulating in anger.

Former Brighton coach Hughton took over as Ghana coach in March 2023 after spending a year as the team’s technical director but he has had mixed fortunes in his short rein.
Not only does this result mean they have won just one of their last eight AFCON matches, their title-tilt is already in danger as they next face a tough fixture against seven-time winners Egypt.
