The Domestic Leagues Committee (DLC) recently held a crucial strategic planning session at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Headquarters to address key concerns and outline plans for the future of Ghanaian football.
Led by Chairman Dr. Tony Aubynn, the 10-member committee delved into a variety of topics, including an evaluation of the current 2023-24 football season in different leagues and the creation of new policies for the remaining matches. They also began preparations for the upcoming 2024-25 season.
GFA General Secretary, Prosper Harrison Addo Esq, stressed the significance of the DLC in promoting collaboration among the Ghana Premier League, Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League, and Access Bank Division One League. He emphasized the need for coordination with other GFA bodies to ensure smooth operations and pledged the Association’s full support.
Dr. Aubynn underscored the committee’s role in raising league standards to support the growth of local talent. He expressed confidence in the committee’s ability to improve the quality of the leagues, guaranteeing an enhanced experience for fans while upholding integrity.
The meeting was attended by Deputies George Gyawu and Hilary Boateng, former Ghanaian international Sam Johnson, as well as other committee members, who actively participated in the discussions.
Overall, the DLC’s strategic planning session was a significant step towards enhancing Ghanaian football and ensuring the continued success of the country’s domestic leagues.
