All students nationwide will be off from school on Thursday, March 7, 2024, according to a declaration made by the Ghana Education Service (GES).
This choice was made to provide the kids with with some much-needed relaxation following their tough training for Wednesday’s Independence Day anniversary parade.
In a statement, Cassandra Twum Ampofo, the Head of GES’s Public Relations Unit, asked parents and guardians to heed this instruction and take appropriate action.
“For the knowledge of all schools and the general public, all schoolchildren in Ghana will have a holiday on Thursday, March 7. Completedd classes resume on Friday, March 8, 2024. Thus, all guardians and parents should take notice.
Ghana held a national parade in Koforidua, Eastern Region, on Wednesday to commemorate the country’s 67th Independence Day.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Speaker of Parliament, a number of diplomats, and the guest speaker, President Alassane Ouattara of Ivory Coast, all attended the ceremony.
Locally, several metropolitan, municipal, and district assemblies also organized parades.
With attendees from nine public and private basic schools and three of the municipality’s top senior high schools, the celebration was lively on a national scale. With the theme “Our Democracy,, Our Pride,” the 5,000-seat Koforidua Youth Resource Center was the venue for the event.
