Gerda Weissmann Klein was an  American author and human rights passionate advocate from Poland.
All but My Life, her personal narrative of the Holocaust, was dramatized into the 1995 short film One Survivor Remembers, won an Academy and a Grammy Award.

Gerda was born on May 8, 1924 in Bielsko. Julius Weissmann, Helene Mueckenbrunn Weissmann happen to be her biological parents.

Until the Germans invaded Poland in 1939, she attended Notre Dame Gymnasium in Bielsko. During the Holocaust, both of her parents, as well as her older brother Arthur were killed. However,  Gerda narrowly escaped .

Klein became an internationally recognized motivational speaker due to her charm and evident ability as an author, historian, and columnist.

Before her demise she had three children. Leslie Simon Klein, James Klein and Vivian Ullman Klein were their names. Gerda was married to Kurt Klein who was an American intelligence officer.
