Geraint Howell Thomas, OBE, a Welsh professional racing cyclist who competes for the UCI WorldTeam Ineos Grenadiers, Wales, and Great Britain, was born on May 25, 1986.
With important victories in the velodrome, one-day racing, and stage racing, he is one of the few cyclists in the contemporary period to see considerable elite success as both a track and road racer.
He has won two Olympic gold medals (2008 and 2012) and three World Championships (2007, 2008, and 2012) on the track.
On the road, he has won the 2018 Tour de France and the 2022 Tour de Suisse, making him the first Welshman to do so.
