George Young, a British actor, writer, and television presenter, was born on February 29, 1980. Young began his career in entertainment in the United Kingdom, first appearing in BBC’s Casualty and then in the Bollywood film Jhootha Hi Sahi. Young appeared on Travel and Living Channel (TLC) as a guest co-host alongside Janet Hsieh on the show Fun Taiwan after filming several TV commercials in Taiwan and Thailand, as well as a music video with Ariel Lin. He was later credited as a scriptwriter for the show.
Young hosted Million Dollar Money Drop: Singapore Edition in 2011, which debuted on MediaCorp Channel 5 on National Day. Shortly after the show premiered, both the show and Young trended globally on Twitter.
Young appeared as new pupil Benjamin Wong in the second installment of The Pupil the same year. The season debuted on August 18, 2011. Young filmed two Mediacorp Mandarin-language dramas for MediaCorp Channel 8 concurrently after studying Mandarin for less than a year: Yours Fatefully and Joys of Life. Young landed his first US television series in 2015, playing Dr. Victor Cannerts, a series regular on Containment. The show premiered on The CW on April 19, 2016.
