George Timothy Clooney was born on May 6, 1961, in Lexington, Kentucky. He is of German, English, and Irish descent. Clooney attended Augusta High School and spent the majority of his formative years there. He tried out for the Cincinnati Reds but was not given a contract despite being very active in sports like baseball and basketball.
Clooney started pursuing acting after his cousin, Miguel Ferrer, secured him a supporting role in a big-budget movie. Ace played his first significant part in the sitcom ER (1984).
Soon after, further characters were cast, such as Booker Brooks, a supervisor on Roseanne (1988), Detective James Falconer on Sisters, and George Burnett, the dashing handyman from The Facts of Life.
