George Paul Blagden is an English theatre and screen actor who was born on December 28, 1989. He is most known for playing Louis XIV in the drama television series Versailles, which was created in France. Additionally, he performed the roles of Grantaire in the 2012 movie rendition of Les Misérables and Athelstan in the Vikings television series (2013–2016).

At the age of 13, Blagden started singing in his own rock band and other choirs. He attended Old Buckenham Hall School before being accepted with a theatrical scholarship to Oundle School, where he performed in the Stahl Theatre in parts including The Baker in “Into the Woods” and Marc in “Art.”

The actress Laura Pitt-Pulford and Blagden wed on September 29, 2019. Arlo Peter Blagden, the couple’s son, was born in October 2020.

He supports Diabetes UK, and from September 4–6, 2015, he cycled from London to Paris in less than 72 hours, raising almost £5,000 for the organization.

As Andy in the 2014 motion picture After the Dark, Blagden played his first acting role in 2011. Since then, he has appeared in a number of films and television shows, including Wrath of the Titans, Les Misérables, Vikings, and as Louis XIV in the drama Versailles.

In the 2018 production of Stephen Sondheim’s musical comedy Company at the Gielgud Theatre in London’s West End, Blagden portrayed the part of PJ.

Shooting for the Nicola Abbatangelo-helmed musical film The Land of Dreams, in which Blagden co-stars, began in October 2019.
