Bell was raised in the challenging working-class high-rise apartments of Lambeth Walk after being born in Peckham, London.
He entered talent competitions during caravan holidays when he was 10 years old, which was his first exposure to the entertainment world. Until the age of 28, when he and his wife split up, Bell was married, had a family, and operated a cleaning business.
At Westminster’s Morley College, he made the decision to pursue acting, and at age 30 he graduated. In 2012, he went back to teaching acting in a theatre school setting at The Flats Film School in Deal.
