On November 24, 1964, Garret Lee Dillahunt was born in the United States.

He is most known for his work in television, which includes the roles of Burt Chance on the Fox comedy Raising Hope and Jack McCall, Francis Wolcott, and John Dorie in Fear the Walking Dead.

For these roles, he was nominated for the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Actor in a Comedy Series (2018–2021). He has appeared in a number of other television series, including The 4400, ER, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Burn Notice, Justified, and The Mindy Project (2015–2017). He starred in the Amazon Studios drama Hand of God (2014–2017).

After spending years on and off Broadway, Dillahunt began exploring roles in television and motion pictures. He appeared as a regular in numerous short-lived programs on ABC and Showtime before portraying two very different roles on the HBO series Deadwood: Jack McCall in 2004 and Francis Wolcott in 2005.
