Freda Prempeh breaks silence after defeat in NPP primary

The member for Tano North, Freda Prempeh, accepts the people’s decision with grace after her recent defeat in the parliamentary primary.

Her hopes of winning reelection were dashed on January 27, when Dr. Gideon Boako, the vice president’s spokesperson, defeated her.

She had been running for a fourth term as MP. With 444 votes, Dr. Boako received more votes than the sitting Member (221). Prempeh replies that he understands that losing is a possibility in each election.

In a display of good sportsmanship and regard for the democratic process, the Minister of Sanitation and Water states that he accepts the decision made by the voters.

“When you go into an election, you either win or lose; you cannot break even. You psych yourself to win but if it doesn’t happen that way, you respect the verdict of the people

“They say fear delegates but I always say trust delegates because I trust their judgment. I will continue to serve the good people of Tano North,” she inform journalists at a ceremony.

The MP claims that in spite of the result, she is still determined to help the NPP break the eight.
