Fereydun Robert Armisen is an American comedian, actor, writer, producer, and musician born on December 4, 1966. Armisen co-created and co-starred in the IFC sketch comedy series Portlandia with his partner in comedy, Carrie Brownstein.

Along with Bill Hader and Seth Meyers, he co-created and stars in the mockumentary IFC series Documentary Now! (2015–present) and the Showtime comedy series Moonbase 8 (2020–present), which also features John C. Reilly and Tim Heidecker.

On The Looney Tunes Show, he provided the voice of Speedy Gonzales (2011–2013).

In addition to being the conductor and regular drummer for the Late Night with Seth Meyers house band, The 8G Band, Armisen launched ThunderAnt.com. This website showcases the comedic sketches produced by Brownstein. For his work on the NBC late-night comedy Saturday Night, Armisen is very well recognized.

Armisen was married to Sally Timm from 1998 to 2004.  He is currently married to Natasha Lyonne.

His father, Fereydun Herbert “Fred” Armisen, an IBM employee, was born to a German mother and a Korean-born father in Soltau, Lower Saxony, Germany.

His mother, a teacher by the name of Hildegardt Mirabal Level, was born in San Fernando de Apure, Venezuela, and he also has a relative there.

Armisen does not have any known siblings.
